In NYS there are sedimentary rock from The Cretaceous Period that are mostly on Long Island.
Location of NYS
NYS was farther north than it is today. It was close to where Greenland is today which meant colder tempertatures. At that time the continents were moving farther away from each other because of plate tectonics.
